Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park at Manhattan Square is located at 353 Court Street. The outdoor ice skating rink was renovated some years back and contains a kidney-shaped skating area that’s almost one-third bigger than the original rink’s surface. And when it gets too chilly for the veterans skaters or the newbies, there’s a shelter to warm up that includes a heated floor and fireplace. There are skates available for rent, and state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems to enhance the experience for all.
There’s open skate from noon to 1:30 Monday through Friday, then again from 3:40 to 5:10 pm, and 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Depending on rink rentals, there may or may not be open skate from 7:20 to 8:50 p.m. Tuesdays through Friday nights.
