Artist tents, music and street food: what more could you ask for on a summer day in Rochester NY? Coming up on July 8 th & 9th, the 49th Annual Corn Hill Arts Festival will be taking place. This year there will be 375 hand selected artists from across the country participating in the event. Categories include: consumable crafts, jewelry, paintings, drawings, and graphics, photography, pottery and ceramics, mixed media and other, sculpture and glass, textile weaving and leather, and woodworking. You can see a full list of artists on the festival website. Here are a few things to keep in mind for this year’s Corn Hill Arts Festival:
The Emerging Artist Expo
This expo is in its 9th year and is a special section of the festival where young artists are able to show and sell their creations. There are 21 artists chosen from the general Rochester community, high schools, and colleges. This gives young artists the chance to experience what participating in a festival would be like.
The Fairy Houses Tour
Don’t forget to visit the Fairy Houses Tour which is being offered for the 5th year in a row. This attraction has over 50 tiny fairy houses created by individuals within the Rochester NY community. This is a fun and free event that will be a blast for the whole family!
The festival also boasts beer and wine gardens to help refresh guests as they wander the streets of the historic Corn Hill neighborhood. The Labatt blue Light Beer and Glenora Wine Garden at The Gazebo Stage is located off Lunsford Circle. This year for the first year, patrons are allowed to enjoy their adult beverages in the SBH Main Stage and food court area.
Parking and free shuttles
Parking for a large festival such as this is always a challenge. They will be offering free bus shuttles to make this easier on those who would like to attend the festival. Businesses and individuals in the Corn Hill area also offer parking though there is usually a price associated with it.
