The lighting of the Liberty Pole is a one of the City of Rochester’s oldest and favorite traditions. Join the celebration this Saturday as Mayor Richards kicks off the season with the Downtown Family Holiday Celebration! He will be joined by Santa & Mrs. Claus and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
The party begins with the lighting of the beloved Liberty Pole, and then the crown will be lead by the Prime Time Brass Band to Martin Luther King Jr Memorial Park for some ice skating! Fireworks will be launched right at the rink!
4:30 pm – 5:10 pm: Lighting of the Liberty Pole… Make sure you get your picture with Santa!
5:15-5:30: Be part of the parade!
5:30 (appx) Fireworks at the MLK Jr Park Ice Rink, with free open skating until 8:30 pm. Bring your own skates, or rent some for $3 per pair.
Other activities for the evening include: free horse-drawn wagon rides, craft activities in the lodge, figure and speed skating exhibitions. Refreshments available!
